Key Survey Findings:
99% of 2015 respondents’ companies have a trading blackout period, a practice codified in a formal policy for the same percentage. These findings represent a one percentage point increase compared with 2010 data (98%).
For 68% of respondents, the company trading blackout period is longer than 30 business days.Eighty-five percent have a quiet period, but it is a formal policy for only half (50%).
The use of a quiet period has also only slightly increased since 2010 (82%).
70% of companies reported abstaining from meetings with the investment community during a quiet period.This is a 9 percentage point decrease over the last five years.
