Description
In an open meeting on December 16, 2009, the SEC approved new rules that will increase, and change certain existing proxy disclosure requirements. Effective in the 2010 proxy season for calendar year end filers, the SEC states the new rules will, "enhance the information provided to shareholders so they are better able to evaluate the leadership of public companies," and will, "improve corporate disclosure regarding risk, compensation and corporate governance matters when voting decisions are made."
