Description
NIRI: The Association for Investor Relations is delighted to present the second version of the Investor Relations Competency Framework, a comprehensive guide that defines the major domains of practice and their sub-objectives within the investor relations profession.

The initial Job Task Analysis (JTA) study, undertaken in 2013, marked a significant milestone in defining the investor relations profession. It provided a foundational understanding of the field and set the stage for ongoing growth and progress. Recognizing the evolving nature of the investor relations profession, the latest version of the framework incorporates detailed objectives that reflect changes and emerging trends.

The IR Competency Framework serves as a catalyst for professional growth and development. By delineating the essential knowledge and skills required for excellence in investor relations, it empowers professionals to embark on a journey of continuous learning and improvement. The framework lays the groundwork and roadmap for pursuing the best-in-class certification - The Investor Relations Charter (IRC)®, providing a tangible goal for professionals to strive towards. It also guides the professional development programming provided by NIRI.

      Review:
This framewrok reflects the thoughtful work of a team of experienced IROs on the key tasks of jobs in IR and what it takes to perform well in these roles. The new additions in capital markets and ESG are emblematic of how our jobs have changed even in the last 2-3 years. It's useful to those running IR departments and to chapters looking at programming needs to develop the professionalism and competency of members. Enjoy!
